BREE MORSE - GARDEN GROVE'S OUTSTANDING TEEN 2009

Bree is a 17-year-old junior at Pacifica High School in Garden Grove. She is a part of her school’s Associated Student Body (ASB), two cheerleading teams, and currently maintains a 4.0 GPA.

For the past eight years, Bree has spent approximately eight hours per week competing on a competitive all-star cheer team, Titan Elite.  She and her team have earned numerous titles including 3 National championships.  They most recently won the 2009 National title this past March in Orlando, Florida. These experiences have taught her that bruises and sore muscles are worth the pain (she’s learned that one very well!), and how to overcome challenges and work as a team in order to succeed.
In ninth grade, Bree was selected as the first freshman to ever make the Varsity Cheerleading Squad at Pacifica High School.  She loves the excitement of football season, pep assemblies, homecoming week, and generally enjoys contributing to the overall spirit at her school.
Bree also serves on the Pacifica High School ASB as Social/Historian Commissioner and Fundraising Coordinator for the Junior Class Cabinet.  She has served in student government since fifth grade, and plans to run for Senior Class President in the upcoming election.  She also plans on remaining involved by participating in Leadership on her future college campus.

Throughout her experiences in school and cheer, Bree has become involved with special education.  She has worked with children with disabilities, and says that their attitude is what makes this subject so special to her.

Throughout the cheerleading world, there are many cheer teams who have Special Olympic teams in their gym, and she would someday like to help create one locally.  Bree believes that the positive outlook these special children possess should serve as a lesson to us all.
Bree’s other interests include eating at Corner Bakery Wednesdays through Saturdays (the only days they have their Loaded Baked Potato Soup), playing with her dogs Sprocket and Daisy, doing handstands, watching the movie Elf, quoting lines from the movie Elf, going to the beach, and of course, going on hunts at the Nordstrom Rack!

Bree is extremely excited to have been given the chance to share this experience with the City of Garden Grove.
