|
Dee Dee Saetia is a 22 year old graduate from the University of California Irvine with a degree in Economics, emphasis in Business and a specialization in International Issues. Dee Dee is the first in her family to obtain a college degree! She plans to pursue a Master’s in Business Administration. Dee Dee hopes to take the knowledge she receives from her education and apply it to becoming a professional entertainer and operating an international touring Polynesian dance company. She is also very passionate about using her education to support her volunteer efforts, “Teaching Youth Financial Responsibility.” Education has always been important in Dee Dee’s life; she appreciates the Miss America Organization which has provided scholarship money to help finance her education.
Dee Dee has dabbled in many different forms of the arts, from playing the clarinet to cheerleading; but nothing has touched her heart like Polynesian dance. Dee Dee has been a Polynesian dancer for seven years. After starting college she began dancing professionally with the international touring company, The Polynesian Paradise Dancers. She also holds the position of Casting Assistant. Her responsibilities include; maintaining choreography, casting and running rehearsals. As both a professional dancer and Casting Assistant, Dee Dee has had the opportunity to travel extensively in the United States with The Polynesian Paradise Dancers.
Dee Dee is currently employed at Chase Bank where she is able to receive the education and support she needs to create and promote her platform, “Teaching Financial Responsibility.” Her platform is designed to educate youth about the importance of financial responsibility by teaching them the purchasing power of money and how to budget. Dee Dee has spoken to more than 500 elementary school students promoting financial responsibility through hands on lessons. The overwhelming positive results she has received from students and staff inspires her to continue with plans of making her platform a part of her lifelong volunteer efforts. Dee Dee is excited about being crowned Miss Garden Grove 2010 and views the title as a tremendous aid in promoting her platform, “Teaching Financial Responsibility.”
Dee Dee has been actively involved with the Miss America Organization since 2005. The Miss America Organization is a program designed for personal growth, and to learn the true definition of community volunteerism. She plans to take full advantage of the opportunities provided by the Miss America Organization during her reign. Dee Dee is looking forward to continuing her volunteer efforts with the Children’s Miracle Network. She is committed to be the best ambassador for the Miss Garden Grove Organization so she can successfully representative them at the Miss California Pageant. Dee Dee is excited to have the opportunity to represent such a supportive community and is looking forward to her year of service as Miss Garden Grove 2010!
